James Sawyer Lisle, age 73, passed away on October 14th 2022 after a short battle with cancer. He was the husband of Christine M. Lisle and they shared 52 years of marriage together.
Born in Roslyn NY, James was the son of Kenneth and Anna Lisle. He graduated Bayside High School and later Empire State College. He was employed at NYNEX (which later became Verizon) as a lineman, an engineer, and a project manager. James served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman in both active duty and the reserves. He served honorably from 1969 to 1981, reaching the rank of HM1.
James was an active member of the VFW Post #7763, serving as the post Chaplin. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society at Maria Regina Church. James was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, having served for 35 years in various leadership positions in Pack 590 and Troop 90. Being the father of two Eagle Scouts and one Life Scout, James was an avid fisherman and camper. He spent his later years enjoying time with his many grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife Christine; children James married to Dulce, Daniel married to Dana, and Thomas married to Ann; and grandchildren James, Shannon, Lucas, Jude, Christine, Christopher, Jonah, Janette, and Jenna. James is predeceased by his father Kenneth Lisle, mother Anna Lisle, and brother Kenneth Lisle.
