I have waited long to post a message here. It has been such a difficult time, most especially for my sister, Karen, and her three amazing boys, my fine nephews, Eddie, Jeffrey and Matthew. Karen and her “boys” have been heroic during these most difficult days. Attending the funeral and family gatherings was so bittersweet, but I am so happy that Patricia and I flew in from Florida. The family gatherings at Linda and Mike’s home, Karen’s backyard, and niece Laura and James home were so important, to be there, and share love, and tell stories.
I pray that Karen and the boys will find peace and the grace to work through the grief. Jeff was such a wonderful brother-in-law, and even more so, a loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed, especially in July at the Family Reunion in the Outer Banks of NC. I can “see” him flipping the burgers and marinading the chicken, the master bar-b-que chef that he was. Hugs and prayers all around. His star shines brightly in the heavens. - John

To a 5yo ring barer in 1980, firefighter Uncle Jeff was a stowic man. Jolly, witty humor, a constant smile: only the beginning of his persona. I can still see the toy firefighter set under the Christmas tree. Rest in Peace. You were a great first hero.

Jeff was my student at Massapequa High School in tenth grade English.(I also had Ron.) I loved his sense of humor and willingness to help both me and his classmates. We would run into each other from time to time in town. It is so difficult to think of my students' passing away. Deepest sympathy to Jeff's family.

We've known Jeff & Karen since they were young teenagers. We were in the Fire Department together and worked hard there and had many good times there. After we both left the Fire Department, we continued to have good times going out to dinner and such. Jeff loved a good steak. Move over barbecue King in heaven because the Barbecue Master is coming. We love and miss you. God bless. Rest in peace. Till we meet again old friend.

Although we did not know Jeff well, he was my brother, Skip's best buddy. We enjoyed Jeff & Karen's company at many family gatherings and when my brother passed Jeff & Karen were there with love & support and wonderful stories of times spent together. He will be missed dearly & I know he & Skip are having a beer together in heaven.
With deepest sympathy, Carol & Alan

Unfortunately we did not have the pleasure of knowing Jeff but through our friendship with Mike and Linda Hanna feel we do since we and our prayer group faithfully prayed for his healing. We are shocked by his sudden passing but also firmly believe that your dear Jeff is sitting at the banquet table with Jesus experiencing perfect peace. HOME AT LAST! Our prayers for comfort and peace will remain with all of you left behind, until that beautiful reunion in Heaven...
Will love and prayers for comfort,
Laurel & John and the McMahon Family
