I am VERY saddened to have just learned of John's passing! I was a client of John's from the time I purchased my home in 1994 & a friend to the present. He, quite simply, was 1 of the finest people it has ever been my pleasure to know. His passing onto Heaven is no less than his just reward, but sadly, the World is much poorer for the loss. I enclose my love and prayers to his sister & family, most sincerely, Joe Coyle & family

My deepest sympathy to John’s sister and his family. I first met John when I became president of the Wantagh YR’s. Back on the 70’s. We shared a love of country and Politics. We both became active at the county level. And oh those trips to DC and his famous history game he loved to play while there or at times on the way to there. I think he made the rules up as we all played. :) He had a heart of Gold, a person you can count on even in the dead of night. We lost a great man, person, and friend. RIP John till we meet again. - Karen

HEAVEN is both present and future. As you walk along your life-path holding My hand, you are already in touch with the essence of heaven: nearness to Me. You can also find many hints of heaven along your pathway because the earth is radiantly alive with My Presence. Shimmering sunshine awakens your heart, gently reminding you of My brilliant Light. Birds and flowers, trees and skies evoke praises to My holy Name. Keep your eyes and ears fully open as you journey with Me. . At the end of your life-path is an entrance to heaven. GOD BLESS, JOHN...We all love you and we know you are there waiting for us.

John was a wonderful friend to us. He always had a positive thought and greeting no matter what was going on. He supported us in our times of grief and times of joy. We were active in the Hicksville Community Council serving together with John having been a President in the early years and Joel is currently Immediate Past President. I remember many wonderful times with John, especially when he would bring a cake every year to holiday meetings. Several years ago I was proud of my insistence when John became ill at the Hicksville street fair that he remain still. I called for a Fire Dept ambulance to the hospital despite his protest. Fire Dept members that knew John helped me convince him to go with them. I was the only one willing to drive his car to a safe parking lot. Many may remember that old Cadi and its condition with a smile. As it turned out later that day he called me from the hospital thanking me. Doctors were able to stop a serious problem and get him back on his feet a few days later. Ever since he was always there for us, in times of sickness , loss of family, good times, or as my physical condition has deteriorated. The whole world will miss him and his caring kindness to anyone he met. God Bless John Budnick.

Like many on this page, I met John at college and in the YR operation and spent long lunch periods in conversation about life and politics. There is little that can be added to what has already been said: a genuinely honest, good, kind and generous man who cared about his community, cared about what was the best for people, always thought of others … never of himself, and has now left this Earth far, far too soon. My condolences to his family and friends. May God Bless him and his soul rest in peace.

I knew John for almost 50 years and can honestly say he was the kindest most generous person. It always amazed me how he seemed to have time to devote to so many organizations and causes he believed in and he always thought of others before himself. John will be greatly missed.

So sad to hear of John' s passing. I have many happy memories of working political campaigns, doing YR work and our multi year bowling tea (the Pitts) with John. John was a wonderful son and a hard working lawyer, great friend and Patriot.May he rest in peace.

I first met John when I joined the Nassau County Young Republicans, way back in 1972. He was the YR chairman. He was a very nice, very fair person and a good leader. Taught me a lot about how to participate in politics-standing up for your beliefs without being offensive (a skill we seem to have lost). He was a good man and a good friend.

Deepest condolences to all who knew and loved John. I met him more than a decade ago because of the George M. Estabrook awards at Hofstra University. The award honors alumni who serve their community while supporting student scholarships. John was a wonderful example to us all of service to his community. His generosity also helped to support many years of scholarships. He will be missed.

John was such a wonderful man and a very good friend to YES Community Counseling Center and our community. His smile and kind heart were qualities that defined him...always trying to do the very best for anyone he could, whenever he could. In todays times, when so many are consumed with their personal day to day struggles, one could always count on John to act on behalf of others in a selfless and generous way. That certainly cannot be said for most....He was very special and will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him!!! "God Bless!"

John J Budnick ( always the J)- Years ago, Readers Digest had a feature where you could talk about most unusually interesting person you knew. To me,he fit that character\ to a tee, here’s why. In the 55+ years I knew him. Back to his Hicksville Teen Age Republicans, And I Syosset TARs, through Young Republicans, neighboring Law Schools he was exactly the same, a rumpled, eccentric, kind and generous smart incisive person, who knew everything, everyone, all that was going on and always had something helpful to to talk about or a story to tell—he was a little bit like Woody Allen’s character “Zelig” he was everywhere and would show up unexpectedly on your doorstep or on the phone— then disappear just as fast without notice. A remarkable person, who was the connective tissue to so many generations of Republicans and friends in Nassau County-keeper of the news and rumors, births, deaths marriages and any gossip around—sometimes it was telephone, telegraph -or tell John—he followed me from Long Island to DC to Florida calling me many times a year to keep me up to date. He had his ups and downs, but remarkably he kept ALL his friends intact- throughout—no small feat in his chosen business -because he was honest, loyal, kept confidences, and had good advice and always put himself second- mostly and honestly is because he just plain sincerely cared about people and his friends. So to me Johns life was a huge success - he changed a lot of lives, left only good behind and left life better than he found it. In life he hid the important thing he just showed up. John, I will miss you. My condolences to your sister Carol and family. I will close with Johns signature closing to any conversation with any of his friends or acquaintances—-GOD BLESS! God Bless you John, a life well lived in service to others.
