Joe F was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Massapequa Park in about 1973. He was a kind, even as he was a a tough and street-smart kid. I know that he touched many, many lives in many powerful and wonderful ways, and I am lucky that my life was one of then.

"Fuuge" or "Fuji" were nicknames for a really cool dude from Richard Melia and orJackie Ginley, Joe was one of my best friends over 47 years ago in our neighborhood, I remember when he moved in with his family from Queens to Massapequa Park , He took over, a natural leader, all the girls wanted him, all the boys wanted to be his friend or be like him back in the day a great friend to me early on, great athlete, fearless, tough hombre, loyal and KIND, GREAT Sense of Humor and Fun, hanging out/buidling forts in the woods, on Oak Street, playing sports, 2hand touch and tackle football, a natural charmer, in the Oak Street Hall of Fame, Godspeed and thanks for the good memories Joe was one of the finest souls you'll ever meet, RIP

Dearest Joe, I am so lucky to have been able to have known you and so sorry to have lost you so quickly. You are a very special man and a sacred soul. The good you have done for my family can never be measured. I only wish I could have you over my house to visit for many years more to see your warm smiles and hear your gentle laughter. I know in my heart that you are with your dear mother and dad and all those you have loved and lost. So it will be a short time my beloved friend, before you will be greeting me to your new home and I can once again open my heart and home to you. We love you, Joe and we pray that God will bless and keep your family here well and safe. Anita, Doug & Rebecca Hernandez
