I was deeply saddened to learn of Coach Corea's passing. I had the honor of playing baseball and football for Coach Corea and I am a better man for it. I lost my father when I was 16 and Coach was always supportive of me. Seeing his happiness when I succeeded meant more to me than he ever knew. His calm, understated style of leadership left a lasting impression on so many of us. It was always clear he cared deeply for his players and students. I am lucky to have known Joe Corea and his memory lives on with me and the countless others whose lives he touched.

To the Corea family. My prayers and condolences go out to all of you. Coach Corea was a great force in so many lives. He pushed you to be your best because he believed you had so much to offer. I was heartbroken to hear of his sudden passing. Please do not worry that his physical presence is gone as his impact will be around for such a long time. God Bless. Rest in Peace Coach. See you at the 50!
