I was deeply saddened to learn of Coach Corea's passing. I had the honor of playing baseball and football for Coach Corea and I am a better man for it. I lost my father when I was 16 and Coach was always supportive of me. Seeing his happiness when I succeeded meant more to me than he ever knew. His calm, understated style of leadership left a lasting impression on so many of us. It was always clear he cared deeply for his players and students. I am lucky to have known Joe Corea and his memory lives on with me and the countless others whose lives he touched.
