Julie Loesch, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2024. Recently it has been a long and difficult time for her both mentally and physically in which she stayed brave and strong in spirit, and it is a blessing that she is no longer suffering and her bright, loving, joyful, kind, warm and caring soul is now at home and peace with the Lord. Julie was born on May 30, 1938 to Charles and Bernice Slater. She grew up in Massapequa and was in the first graduating class of Massapequa High School where she sang in the choir and was a cheerleader. She worked as a secretary in the Massapequa Schools Administration offices for many years until her retirement.
Julie was devoted to her children and grandchildren and loved to garden, shop, cook, read and laugh. She loved to swim in the ocean and spent many summer days sunbathing at Tobay Beach. Julie had an intelligent, inquisitive mind and a wise and quick wit. Julie was loved and admired by so many and she will be deeply missed.
Julie is survived by her daughters Nancy Loesch (Bernard) Rotzetter and Jennifer (Kevin) Bragg, and was preceded in death by her son Michael Loesch. She is also survived by her grandchildren Claudia and Brian Bragg, brother David Slater (Elisca) and nephew Jeremy Slater. She also leaves behind her devoted dog Ella, who never left her side. We celebrate Julie’s life and cherish her memory with love, prayers and thanksgiving.
