We mourn the loss of our dear mother Loretta Elizabeth Lamneck (nee Melia) 96 years of age. She was a long time resident of Massapequa NY.  She passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023. Loretta was predeceased by her loving husband Philip, in 1984 and beloved son Dennis, in 2020. She is survived by her 3 daughters Patricia Tucker, Lori Cimino (Peter), Grace Marie Kizelewicz,(Alphonsus) and 3 sons Philip Jr (Geri), Robert (Ali), Charles (Colleen); 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren who called her Gi Gi. She will be greatly missed.

She was born August 8, 1926 to John Melia and Grace Boyle Melia in Brooklyn, NY. Loretta was the last surviving sibling of 7 whom she loved dearly. (Anne Lantelme, Grace Kane, Kathryn Melia, “Mickey” Melia, Marie Merrille, Marguerite Melia). She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Loretta married her childhood sweetheart Philp Lamneck September 1, 1945 at St Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. They were parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa, NY for over 60 years. She cherished her role as a wife, mother and homemaker. Loretta had a good sense of humor and an inner strength that served her well. She enjoyed sewing, baseball, playing bingo, family and friends. Her kitchen table was a gathering spot where all were welcome to drop in at any time for something to eat, to share a story, to laugh or shed a tear. She shared her time, encouragement and guidance. She was a devoted mother who touched many.

Loretta cultivated a life of love, a life well lived.
