Louis A Puya Sr. of Wantagh, NY, formerly of Franklin Square, passed away on October 6,  2023 at the age of 92. Louis was a beloved husband to Kathleen, devoted father to Louis Jr., Rosemarie Casale (Edward), Diane Burbes (John), Kathleen McCarty (Michael) and Margaret. He was a loving grandfather to Emily, John, Katie, Daniel, Jenna, Michael and Ryan and great grandfather to Brody and Emma. Cherished brother to Catherine Lazzaro.

Louis was kind, warm hearted, and the truest definition of a gentleman. He was a proud US Army Veteran, a proud Local 580 Iron Worker and proud to be “Calabrese” but his pride and joy was his wife Kay, his children and grandchildren. Nothing made him happier than cooking for his family. He will be remembered singing to Sinatra while frying up meatballs, making the best eggplant parmesan and telling you to “sit down while I make you an egg”.
Family will receive friends Monday Oct 9, 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm at the South Chapel Massapequa Funeral (4980 Merrick Road, Massapequa Park, NY 11762). Mass will be held on October 10th at 11:15am, at St. Frances de Chantal.
