Albert DiMarcantonio left a message on July 7, 2021:
I am saddened by the passing of Nancy Felicioni, my long-time friend and treasured sister in a family of friends. We grew up together in a place and time alien to me now but ever in my memory. It was Saint Monica Church and school, and the common affection between our families that formed an unbreakable bond between us. Our life paths diverged in our early years, yet her ways, her sensibilities, her opinions are embedded in my memory and will remain so. Nancy gave herself to the uplifting, education, and service of people, all people. I looked forward to our occasional meetings throughout my life. There was a constancy about Nancy that defied the turbulence in my ever-changing world. While occasions to meet were few, there was a comfort knowing that she was part of the story of our time. An ardent reader and life-long learner, a woman of letters, a stern disciplinarian; Nancy educated, and held the interest and loyalty of even reluctant students who would not be educated but who wisely yielded to her strong commitment to see them succeed. Nancy took on the hard-to-do tasks that many shunned. She was a courageous woman of responsibility, self-reliance, and charity and did not seek the adulation or gratitude of others as she gave her heart and “tough love” “without cost”. She would speak her truth as God gave her the light to see that truth and showered her opinion on the world she shared, brightening the tapestry of human consciousness. She took the worldly issues of the day seriously. Yet, even in our divergent opinions, there was her loving concern for all of us to think and do aright. She was a sister that I never had. Nancy was a beautiful person and now her beautiful soul is free to explore, to experience, and to learn in the mysterious realm of her Creator. And for that, and for her friendship, for her life lived so selflessly, and with the realization of a life that inevitably would come to a new beginning, there is a joy that tempers my sadness. It is a joy that her God has received her with the accolades and love she so much deserves. Still, I will miss her. Very well done, Nancy. ‘til we meet again… Albert DiMarcantonio Captain, United States Navy Retired

So sorry to hear about Nancy's passing away. We knew each other a very long time ago. My maiden name was Tema Placer and I am from Boro Park, Brooklyn and went to Baruch College and Hunter College to teach business in high school. I gave you this information because we have not connected in a long time. I saw Nancy's obituary in Newsday today. RIP Nancy in Heaven. Condolences and sympathy to the Felicioni family.
