My family was so saddened to hear of Pastor Steins passing. We attended bible study and our children were involved in some youth activities before moving to Colorado. Each time we came back to visit family, we would stop by and surprise him with a short visit. This community has lost both a friend and a wonderful "man of God". We all long to hear the words, "Well done, they good and faithful servant". There is no doubt that Pastor heard those words upon entering the presence of the Lord. We will miss being able to visit with him here on earth, but look forward to seeing him again. Our love and prayers to Lynda and the boys and to the church family that loved him.

Pastor Stein will be missed. So many came from near and far to be a part of his services... not just because they knew him, but because they were touched and inspired by him. He made an impact in my life from the teenage years, and his legacy continues as we all go forth in how He taught us to love Jesus and shine Jesus. We will never be the same because we knew him. I'm thankful for the opportunity to join with other believers as we celebrated his life and will be praying for Lynda, Jonathan, Jeremy, and Joshua.

We have all lost someone dear to us in his passing. To God be the glory for all he accomplished on this earth and what will be accomplished in his memory.

Pastor Al Stein was a blessing to his family, his church, his section and his district. As a department leader for the district, I have benefitted from his wisdom and insight. Lynda and boys, I pray God's strength and help in the coming days. Much love, hugs and prayers. Pastor Al was a gift. He will be missed.

We have lost a great leader, our icon, a wonderful Pastor ..He has gone to be with the Lord, he will suffer no more, he will cry no more. He will be forever joyful.. We have to live our part and 1 day we shall meet again and we shall all live in harmony.. Al and Family,Steiny was one of my best friends throughout school. We have shared many great times together all revolving around playing hoops and then all the great times we had at school. We were the Warren Hills backcourt tandem and I enjoyed playing every minute with you - you were the best point guard any shooting guard could play with. Even after our playing days, I'm so glad you found happiness in your life truly doing what you were meant to do and thats preach, lead people, and be a great human being and family man. I feel a piece of me is gone with your passing but some day we will meet again. Debbie and I send the most heart felt condolences to your family. You truly will be missed my good friend.

We did not know Alan or his family, but we know David and Cathy very well and we are sure that Alan was of the same timber. May the Lord be with you all as you pass through this trial, and come to a new peace in the future without Alan. May the Lord richly bless you all and lead you to seek to always understand better the will of God for you, and to live it in your life.

Al, I will always have fun and fond memories of you. We went through high school together and you were one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I was thrilled when I found out you had found Jesus as your Savior, and then gotten into the ministry! Your beautiful family, whom I have never met, are in our prayers. Our hearts are all breaking because we will be missing you down here, but we know we will be seeing you in heaven!

We remember well the last time we stayed at the house with you both. We talked of the past and wonderful memories; and then we talked about what our dreams for the future might look like. Lynda and boys - NOTHING in this life takes God by surprise. He knew this would happen and now has trusted His plans to us…oh my…praying for you 4 that His joy will be your strength and that His peace will be your arms of love. What a joy it has been to walk this part of our journey with Al as a friend. We will miss that smile and his encouragement.

I was saddened to hear Alan's sudden passing. He and I both came out of Washington Assembly of God, Washington NJ at about the same time and pursued the calling to ministry. Our paths took us down different roads and we lost touch with the passing years. I fondly remember those early days and the life and laughter that "Steiny" would add to our group. To be absent from body is to be present with the Lord. I look forward to that future day when we shall once again be able to share life and laughter together. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

My wife Robin went to Warren Hills with Al and shared some great stories. I knew Al as a young christian at the Washington Assy of God. We became friends for a short time before he left for college. I am deeply saddened by the recent death of Pastor Stein. He was a wonderful friend in high school and we all have such great memories. May he now watch over all of us and his bright light shine carom above.

Deeply saddened to hear of my good friend and brother's passing.Reminded of the passage in the Scripture that speaks of sorrowing but not hopelessly, rather in hope. I can remember Al being my "best man" and I his, him having tremendous influence on my coming to the faith and being involved in ministry, along with countless other things from our past. Our prayers go out to Lynda and the boys for an extra outpouring of grace in this trying time. Hey Al, I still beat you playing "one on one'!

Alan was truly a blessing to myself, my family and church as he taught the Word of God to us in our annual Bible conference. I first met Alan on Chris Arnzen's radio show "Iron Sharpens Iron" and was immediately impressed with his godly, zealous and intelligent ministry. The body of Christ has lost a general and we all are grieving with his family and congregation. Though we will dearly miss our departed brother, we look to the sovereign ruler of all and His loving heart. May the glory, comfort and peace of God bless and strengthen the Stein family, their friends and Neighborhood Assembly of God.

I grew up with Alan, going thru grammar school,junior high and finally graduating together in 1973 from Warren Hills. I have so many wonderful and funny memories of all of these years with Alan. He was always the joker, prankster, life of any party. He chose the perfect calling for the type of person he was, loving caring,forgiving, but most of all the best friend you could ever ask for. To Alan's wife and sons, remember all the wonderful memories of your husband and dad, he will always be with you. I will always cherish the wonderful memories of being an innocent child and growing up with Alan. We join you in your sorrow, but we do not grieve as those without hope. Praying that you will know the supernatural comfort of the Spirit in these days. To The Stein family and Church family in Bellmore. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.. With great sadness and with overwhelming joy because the promises of God's infallible word I weep. Pastor being a selfless loving Shepard was there for me as Jesus was for the one lost sheep. For this Jesus gets the glory. I will look forward to seeing my sweet Shepard friend again . I have experienced the race he ran and I applaud the crown he has received. This is the legacy of a man who understood his calling and gave a proper example of the Glory From God for which it came. Thank you Pastor for being there for me when I needed God most. I LOVE YOU!! Pastor Stein was our first pastor as a couple. He did our premarital counseling working with the fact I lived in Florida at the time and Mike on Long Island. We were then when Neighborhood moved to the current building. I remember some great sermons and fellowship. He will be missed. His love for his family and congregation was evident. The Lord truly blessed my husband and me in leading us to Neighborhood Assembly almost 4 years ago, and with that our great privilege of sitting under the teachings, preachings and fellowship of our dear and beloved Pastor Stein. We were amazed at such a godly man who was so dedicated and enamoured of God's holy word, his exposition and unpacking of The Word, he thoroughly enjoyed teaching and preaching it with every fiber of his being...such a joy to listen and watch him. He repeated scripture and phrases that I know we will never forget, for that very reason he repeated them so, so often. I never tired of hearing him, it was always a pleasure and a time of deep learning and sharing. His love and care of all of us was unmatched. I'm pretty sure he had no time for himself, because he was pulled from so many ways constantly, and no matter how much he looked tired there was still a glow of joy about him because he was doing his Master's work, hallelujah! Humble and sincere, he always pointed us to the Lord, no matter what, God IS in control! Never wanting to take credit of anything, as it should be because we give our Lord and Savior all the glory, praise and honor; but Pastor was an exemplary Pastor, teacher, advisor, friend, husband to his beautiful Lynda, how he loved her and would always announce it, and father to his wonderful three sons, how proud he was of his boys. What a wonderful model of what a man under Christ should be. And he was proud of us, his church family who love him beyond words really, I know I always felt his genuine love and affection for us. But, I'm having trouble seeing through the tears, the pain of separation is great but the joy of him in glory is greater, thank You Jesus for what you did on that cross for us that Pastor Stein is now home at last, and Your promise to us is we will all be together once again, and soon, we see it is soon, Amen!　 So, I don't say goodbye, it's just a little while apart - "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing it will be! When we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory!" AMEN! Lynda, because we're sisters in Christ, I know you know our hearts, how we love and respect you and will always be here for you and the boys in anything the Lord helps us to be of use for you, humbly and with such love from our hearts. You have been a great example of a woman of God, my heart aches for your personal separation from your beloved husband and best friend. Jose and I love you and we trust in God's promise that our many tears will be turned into JOY!!! (Psalm 30:5) (((HUGS)))

My condolences to Mrs. Lynda O'Connor Steins, sons, family members, clergy men and women, and congregation. It is with Great Honor that myself, my son, and daughter was graced with the opportunity to get to know such a wonderful awesome man of God. We were immediately welcome with open arms kindness and warmth not only by you Pastor Stein but by your wife, son, and members of the congregation. The love that flowed through you filtered down through everyone that is a part of the ministry. Although my heart is aching, and that I only got to know you for a short period of time, I will never forget the full of excitement bubbly man of God teaching Wednesday night Bible study. Pastor Stein made such a huge impact in my life. I remember there were times I had questions about life and he humbly guided me through what the Word of God said about that certain situation. And when he didn't know, he would always make sure to emphasize God's sovereignty and remind me that God is in control. He was a wonderful teacher, man of God and a humble leader. A true shepherd, always proclaiming the Word of God without compromise. There was no sugar coating God's word with Pastor Stein. That's one of the things I will remember most about him. It truly was an honor and privilege to have known him. I will miss him terribly. My love and prayers to his dear wife, Lynda and sons Jon, Jeremy and Joshua.
