Bob Kopack, age 93, passed away peacefully at his Assisted Living community in Norwalk, CT on November 7th, 2023.
Bob was one of five children of Mary and Joseph Kopack. He grew up in Westbury, NY. After graduating high school, he joined the US Maritime Service. From 1951-1953 he served in the US Army overseas in Japan during the Korean War. Upon returning, he married his wife Eileen (Dunn) and they built their home in Massapequa, NY where they raised their three children and he resided for almost 60 years.
Bob was employed at Grumman Aerospace for 41 years. He earned both his Bachelor’s (1968) and Master’s (1972) degrees in Business Administration from Adelphi University. Bob enjoyed music, gardening, photography, and particularly celebrating holidays with his family, extended family, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Eileen, in 2006. He is survived by his three children and their spouses: Cindy Bradley (Bob), Rob Kopack (Cindy), and Jim Kopack (Pam), by six grandchildren: Brian, Kevin, Holly, Danny, Jenny, & Jimmy, two great granddaughters: Harper and Caroline, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was also preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph, Rosemarie Tubito, & William, and is survived by his sister, Janet Rhoades.
Visitation will be held at the Massapequa Funeral Home South in Massapequa on Sunday, November 12th from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Massapequa on Monday, November 13th at 10AM followed by a burial service at Grace Cemetery in Massapequa.
