Roy M. Citrano 95, of Massapequa NY passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30,
surrounded by his family. Roy was predeceased by his wife Honey, in 2005 and his son
Rory, in 1979; parents, John and Rose (Fiore); sisters, Rosalie and Marie; and brothers,
Sal and John. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he will be
deeply missed by myself and the rest of our family. He is survived by his three
daughters Maureen (Bryant), Debbie, and Markey (Eddie), his son Brian (Ruthy); nine
cherished grandchildren Nikki, Ryley, Nikko, Capri, Tina, Gabby, Jeyruh, Ariannah, and
Harrisson; two recent great-grandchildren Emma and Olivia; and two brothers, Joseph
and Richard.
Roy proudly served his beloved country in the U.S. Navy for 2 years at the end of WWII.
After the service he married, started his family, and worked as a foreman at Fairchild
Republic Aviation, on the A-10 Thunderbolt II. When the company folded, he embarked
on what would be a thirty-year career as a heating oil engineer expert, with more than
20 years at Meenan Oil. As a pillar of the community he loved, Roy was actively
involved in several organizations including: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and
the Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree Inside Guard) for 23 years at Our Lady of the
Island #6911.
He was a jack of all trades, always mastering whatever he tackled. This includes his
expertise as a car mechanic, electrician, plumber, carpenter, landscaper, and even a
BBQ chef.
His family and friends will forever be in his heart as he sets sail on his new voyage.
