Walter died peacefully on April 1st 2021 at 81 years of age. He is survived by his wife Judy, his son Christopher, his daughters Elizabeth and Michele, as well as his sisters Lorraine and Joyce. He was a loving grandfather who was known as “Pop” to his six beautiful grandchildren Spencer, Christian, John, Jaimie, Alec, and Sophia.
After 4 decades of employment as a Local 3 journeyman electrician, Walter went on to enjoy well over 20 years of relaxing retirement. He famously joked that the word WORK was a four letter word.
Walt was an impressive baseball, basketball and hockey player who later donated his time to coaching countless young athletes in the Massapequa community. He was a marathon runner who also had a passion for the game of racquetball. It was a sport he continued to play in to his eighties, even after three knee surgeries!
Walter was a kind and generous person who never worried about himself and was always ready to help others. He will be missed beyond measure.
