I wish you never left us so soon, Billie - our beloved neighbor of Amityville #3. Life isn't the same without you! I hope this is all a nightmare and was a mistake and you return back into our lives. I stay stuck in the denial phase. God gless you. My heart was hurting. My husband was spazzing out. -Ann

We definitely lost a Massapequa Legend on July 6th, 2023. My deepest condolences to the entire Busch family. Bill was a father, educator, athlete, brother, son, friend, and one of the funniest and most loyal men I have ever known. I have known Billy since CYA soccer where we met at 6 years old. I was privileged to be invited to be his best man at his wedding on 8/21/99. 16 of his good friends went to Las Vegas, prior to that, for an unforgettable bachelor party. The memories from that weekend are cherished forever, and of course locked in my safe. The weekend was iconic! Billy and I never lost touch, even though I moved out West in my 20’s. He even came to visit me in San Diego years ago and we spent every day hanging on the boardwalk in Pacific Beach. Bill would always like to put the sunscreen on his face and never rub it in. That always made me laugh hard! Bill’s sense of humor and ability as an impressionist had everyone crying for years. He never stopped making others laugh. When he became a special ed teacher, that just proves that Bill’s primary purpose in life was to help others. The characteristics that he owns, his loyalty to friends and family, his elite sense of humor, his superb athleticism, and the drive to help others in need, is what makes a legend. He will forever be missed and his friends have been sharing pictures, memories, and videos all weekend long. Love you Bill! You will be missed forever and never forgotten.

Billy Busch is TRULY one of a kind. Anyone who knew him came to quickly realize Billy was unbelievably funny and could make you laugh all the time. Some memories in no particular order * Scotty - who didn’t love this impression. I could laugh at Scotty for hours * the angry director - pure genius… ‘cut cut cut do it again!’ Busch at his best * Bill Murray - what can you say? It was a love affair. His favorite Murray? I would say it’s Murray in caddy shack taking about his round w the Doli Lama or in stripes w Sgt Hulka or Ghostbusters convincing the mayor to go w the ghostbusters ‘ray you can save the lives of millions of registered voters’ - working w bill as a cabana boy was classic. We would be out till 2am and make it work and be so tired but then about 2pm Bill would walk by me backwards as if rowing hard and at that moment you knew we were going out again that nite - jersey shore -it was around the time spuds McKenzie was the rage for bud life and we won a spuds doll on the boardwalk and bill shaved it’s head have it tattooes and we carried it around all weekend - 3x3 hoops ar Brady w me Busch and McCauley vs demeao McEntie and demarco … we never won but bill was always the man in hoops * fat Francis * massapequa Memorial Day soccer tournament when the wings won …. Busch as our center half * bill had the weakest stomach - the thought of something gross (just tbr thought) could make him throw up * loved Pearl Jam and kiss * we saw many shows - Metallica Pearl Jam and CSN * he loved the islanders * WW wrestling - rowdy Rodney piper, snuka, George the animal, he loved them all … the hanson dolls in 9th grade were something * Busch and McCauley acting out 10th round of rocky and Busch loved being rocky and getting his ribs broken * bill loved to go into a bathroom at a party and wet the side of his hair .. classic Busch move * the stunts were non strop. He paid the price w his back but he could have been in Hollywood. And he got me do stunts too … geez * Gary Horrorwirtz - bill was lenny and mine was ? * we bartended at the broadway sports cafe - a short stint but lots of laughs … boy wonder and kid dynamite Bill will be sorely missed. He was / is one of a kind and he was loved by everyone. The world lost a true gem and I wish we had another 30 years to spend w Billy and enjoy his company and have so many more laughs together. Rest in peace Billy *
